The Wound Healing Center of Fairfield County at Bridgeport Hospital offers the area’s first hospital-based multiplace (multiperson) hyperbaric oxygen therapy chamber—accommodating up to 12 people at the same time. The Center is staffed with full time phsycians, nurses and Certified Hyperbaric Technologists. The multiplace design allows for a trained staff member to accompany patients in the chamber during their treatments. The attendant assists each patient and helps to decrease feelings of isolation and claustrophobia that some patients experience in monoplace (single person) chambers.
