Hartford Hospital's Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine chamber is the largest and the only multiplace chamber in New England; the chamber is rated to 6 ATA and can treat up to 10 patients at one time plus, up to two (2) hyperbaric attendants inside with the patients. The chamber is also set up to treat all patient populations including the critically ill, ventilated patient.

The staff includes physicians' board certified in Undersea & Hyperbaric medicine, critical care nurses, certified hyperbaric nurses, certified wound specialist, respiratory therapists and certified hyperbaric technologists.

The facility consists of a waiting room, four wound care exam rooms, one large procedure room, chamber area, equipment space and offices.


Hospital
Hartford Hospital is an acute care hospital, located in the south end of Hartford Connecticut . The Hospital came into being in 1854 when a catastrophic explosion created the need to treat the many injured. In 1994, The Institute of Living, a psychiatric hospital founded in 1822, became the Mental Health Division of Hartford Hospital.

Today, Hartford Hospital is a major tertiary care and community health care center, serving a statewide patient population.

The hospital has been a recipient of numerous highly prestigious national awards, recognizing the institution for its medical excellence, as well as its work in the areas of community relations, minority recruitment and the provision of health services within a diverse population.
